A
true super-fight in the world of boxing between American Floyd 'Money'
Mayweather Jr. and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez ended with a majority decision win for Mayweather in
what has been called the highest grossing Pay Per View bout ever. The
bout was promoted by Oscar Delahoya's Golden Boy Promotions.
Mayweather
Junior came into the fight with 44 wins of which 26 are knockouts and
no defeats while Mexican Canelo--suffering his first defeat--held a record of 42 wins
with 30 of them being knockouts. The fight went the entire 12 round scheduled.
An
hour after tickets to the fight were released on sale, they sold
out! Boxing fans sure did get their money's worth whether attending live on
ringside or watching via TV on Showtime pay-per-view. Mayweather proved to the world that
he is still the undefeated world champion and that age and experience do count a lot in fights sometimes!
